Well at the beginning of December I was invited to join a webinar held by [Animation Mentor]. The speaker was a industry genius by the name of Jason Ryan. He works for Dream works ( my dream company before they got rid of all their 2d) and had previously worked at Disney and other companies.
The seminar was 2 hours and I only paid 25.00 for it. And it was worth all that and so much more. It was well worth all the information that was given during the seminar. He was really good and it inspired me even more then I have/ had been lately.
He talked about how he still uses 2d methods ( ie sketching the scene is a flip book program) to get to his final product in 3d. He also told us his big secret, that he was never really very good at drawing. Isn’t that weird? I used to feel really bad that I got a D in one of my drawing classes– a 6 hour drawing class with nude models– now I don’t feel so bad at all.
I really do hope that they have more webinars in the future because I would really love to hear more about our industry and where it’s going.
